พระราหู (Rahu) – เทพแห่งเงา ภาพลวง และพลังการเปลี่ยนแปลงพระราหูคือเทพนพเคราะห์ผู้แทนพลังของเงา ความลี้ลับ ภาพลวง ความปรารถนาอันซ่อนเร้น และการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างกะทันหัน พระองค์ร่วมพิธีกวนน้ำอมฤตเพื่อดื่มให้เป็นอมตะ แต่ถูกสุริยะและจันทรเทพจับได้จนพระวิษณุตัดร่างออกเป็นสองส่วน แต่ได้รับน้ำอมฤตแล้วจึงยังคงมีชีวิตอยู่ ส่วนบนกลายเป็น พระราหู ผู้ทรงอำนาจเหนือเงามืดและจิตใต้สำนึกของมนุษย์พระราหูมีบทบาทสำคัญเพราะเป็นผู้ก่อให้เกิด คราส เมื่อไล่กลืนพระอาทิตย์หรือพระจันทร์ สื่อถึงช่วงเวลาที่แสงถูกกลบและความจริงถูกบิดเบือน ก่อนที่จะกลับมาสว่างอีกครั้ง ความหมายนี้ทำให้พระราหูเป็นเทพแห่ง “บททดสอบทางใจ” ความหวั่นไหว ความโลภ ความกล้าเสี่ยง และความเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ผลักให้มนุษย์ก้าวสู่ระดับใหม่ของตนเองในด้านโหราศาสตร์ พระราหูส่งอิทธิพลต่อความกระหายความสำเร็จ แรงผลักดันภายใน ความทะเยอทะยานสูง ความกล้าออกนอกกรอบ รวมถึงเหตุการณ์ไม่คาดฝันที่พลิกชะตา หลายคนเชื่อว่าบูชาเพื่อโชคลาภ ความฉลาดเล่เหลี่ยม หรือเปลี่ยนวิกฤตให้เป็นโอกาส

Rahu is the Navagraha deity (celestial body) representing the energy of shadow, mystery, illusion, hidden desires, and sudden transformation. He partook in the ritual of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk to drink the elixir of immortality (Amrita). However, he was exposed by Surya (the Sun God) and Chandra (the Moon God), leading Lord Vishnu to sever his body into two parts. Having already consumed the Amrita, the upper part remained immortal and became Rahu, who holds power over the dark shadow and the human subconscious.
Rahu plays a critical role because he causes eclipses when he pursues and “swallows” the Sun or the Moon. This symbolizes a period when light is obscured and truth is distorted, before returning to brightness again. This meaning establishes Rahu as the deity of “mental trials”, instability, greed, risk-taking, and the changes that propel humans toward a new level of self.
Astrologically, Rahu influences the thirst for success, inner drive, high ambition, the courage to break conventional boundaries, as well as unforeseen, destiny-altering events. Many believe that worshipping Rahu brings good fortune, cunning intelligence, or helps in turning a crisis into an opportunity.
