054 ทัตตาเตรยะ Dattatreya

ทัตตาเตรยะเป็นมหาฤๅษี อวตารหนึ่งของพระวิษณุ โดยมี พระพรหมและพระศิวะอวตารร่วม พระทัตตาเตรยะเป็นบุตรของฤๅษีอัตริหนึ่งในเจ็ดมหาฤๅษีกับพระนางอนุสูยา พระทัตตาเตรยะมักปรากฏในรูปของฤๅษีหนุ่มที่มีลักษณะเด่นคือ มีสามเศียร หกกร กายสีขาว มักมีสุนัขสี่ตัว เดินตาม ซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของพระเวททั้งสี่ หรือบางความเชื่อว่าเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของความซื่อสัตย์ ความบริสุทธิ์ และการหลุดพ้น มีแม่วัวสุรภี อยู่เคียงข้าง เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของโลกและมารดาแห่งสรรพชีวิต พระองค์ได้รับการยกย่องเป็น คุรุแห่งคุรุหรือศาสดาผู้สอนวิชาความรู้และปรัชญาชั้นสูง เป็นผู้เผยแผ่ความรู้ด้านโยคะและวิทยาการลึกลับต่างๆ

Dattatreya Dattatreya is a great Rishi and an avatar of Lord Vishnu, with the concurrent avatars of Brahma and Shiva as well. Dattatreya is the son of Rishi Atri, one of the Seven Great Rishis, and Anasuya. Dattatreya often appears in the form of a young ascetic with the distinguishing feature of three heads, six arms, and a white complexion. He is usually accompanied by four dogs, symbolizing the four Vedas (or, in some beliefs, honesty, purity, and liberation), and a Kamadhenu cow (Surabhi), which symbolizes the world and the mother of all creation. He is revered as the Guru of Gurus, a master who teaches high knowledge and philosophy, and a propagator of knowledge in Yoga and various esoteric sciences.
