โมหิณีคือปางอวตารสตรีของพระนารายณ์ ผู้ทรงแปลงกายเป็นหญิงงามล้ำเพื่อใช้ปัญญาเอาชนะอสูรโดยไม่ต้องใช้กำลัง ศึกสำคัญที่โมหิณีปรากฏคือเหตุการณ์กวนเกษียรสมุทร เมื่อเหล่าอสูรคิดแย่งน้ำอมฤต พระนารายณ์จึงแปลงเป็นโมหิณีล่อลวงให้พวกอสูรหลงใหล จนสามารถนำอมฤตไปคืนแก่เหล่าเทพได้โดยไม่เสียเลือดเนื้อ โมหิณีจึงเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของ “ปัญญาที่แปรเปลี่ยนรูปแบบ” ความงามที่มีพลังควบคุมสถานการณ์ และการเอาชนะความโลภด้วยกลยุทธ์ที่เหนือกว่า ในคติไทย โมหิณีถูกมองเป็นพลังแห่งเสน่ห์ ปัญญา และการคลี่คลายปัญหาด้วยสติที่เฉียบคม

Mohini is the female avatar of Phra Narai (Lord Vishnu), who transformed into an exquisitely beautiful woman to use wisdom to overcome the demons (Asuras) without resorting to force. The key conflict where Mohini appeared was during the Churning of the Ocean of Milk (Samudra Manthan).
When the demons sought to steal the Elixir of Immortality (Amrita), Lord Vishnu transformed into Mohini, captivating the Asuras with Her charm, and successfully retrieving the Amrita to return to the Devas (gods) without bloodshed.
Mohini thus became a symbol of “Wisdom that changes its form,” beauty with the power to control situations, and the overcoming of greed through superior strategy. In Thai tradition, Mohini is viewed as the power of charm, intellect, and the resolution of problems with sharp consciousness.
