010 พระกาฬ Kala

พระกาฬเป็นเทพผู้แทน “กาลเวลา” อันทรงพลังเหนือทุกชีวิต พลังแห่ง วัฏจักร ที่ทำให้ทุกสิ่งเปลี่ยนผ่าน ทั้งเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และดับไปตามกฎธรรมชาติ พระกาฬมักถูกมองว่าเข้มงวดและน่าเกรงขาม แต่แท้จริงแล้วพระองค์เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของ “ความจริงแท้” ที่ไม่มีสิ่งใดสามารถหนีพ้นสัจธรรมแห่งกาลได้ในบางคติ พระกาฬเกี่ยวโยงกับพระศิวะในฐานะผู้ทำลาย และเกี่ยวพันกับยมราชในฐานะเทพผู้นำพาความตาย พลังที่กำกับจังหวะสุดท้ายของชีวิต พระกาฬยังเป็นตัวแทนของความเปลี่ยนแปลงใหญ่ที่มนุษย์ไม่สามารถคาดเดาได้ เป็นผู้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงความไม่เที่ยง ความลืมไม่ได้ของอดีต และพลังที่บังคับให้มนุษย์เติบโตผ่านความสูญเสียและการยอมรับในคติไทย พระกาฬยังเป็นผู้คอยพิทักษ์ศาสนา กำจัดอธรรม และคอย “เร่งผลกรรม” ให้ดำเนินอย่างถูกต้องตามเวลา ทำให้พระองค์ถูกบูชาในฐานะเทพผู้ช่วยให้มนุษย์หลุดพ้นจากความหลง ความยึดติด และความประมาท

Kala (Phra Kan) is the deity representing “Time” which wields power over all life. He embodies the energy of the Cosmic Cycle that governs the transition of all things—birth, existence, and cessation—according to natural law.
Kala is often viewed as strict and awe-inspiring, but in reality, he is the symbol of the “Absolute Truth” that nothing can escape the reality of Time.
In some beliefs, Kala is connected with Lord Shiva as the Destroyer, and associated with Yama (Yamaraj) as the deity who ushers in death and regulates the final rhythm of life. Kala also represents the great, unpredictable changes that humans cannot foresee. He highlights impermanence, the unforgotten power of the past, and the force that compels humans to grow through loss and acceptance.
In Thai belief, Phra Kan also acts as the protector of religion, the dispeller of evil, and the one who “accelerates the results of karma” to proceed accurately according to the timeline. This leads to his worship as a deity who helps humanity achieve liberation from delusion, attachment, and negligence.
