026 ท้าววิรูปักข์ Virupakkha

๑ ใน ๔ ท้าวจตุโลกบาล ท้าววิรุฬหกทรงเป็นอธิบดีปกครองดูแลทิศตะวันออก มีหน้าที่ดูแลปกครองเหล่า พญานาค ทั้งปวง ทรงเป็นหัวหน้าของเหล่านาคและสัตว์เลื้อยคลานที่อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดิน แม่น้ำ และมหาสมุทร โดยปกครองพญานาค ๔ ตระกูลหลัก ได้แก่ ตระกูลสีทอง สีเขียว สีรุ้ง และสีดำ ท้าววิรูปักษ์ มีพระวรกายสีทองหรือสีเนื้ออ่อนออกขาว และมีดวงเนตรสีขาวอมฟ้า

VirūpākshaThao Virūpāksha is one of the Four Heavenly Kings (Chatur Loka Bala). He is the sovereign who governs the West (the Thai text contains an error stating East, but the traditional direction is West). His duty is to supervise and govern all Nāga (serpent deities). He is the chief of the Nāgas and all reptiles residing in the land, rivers, and oceans, governing the four main Nāga clans: the golden, green, rainbow-hued, and black. Thao Virūpāksha has a golden or pale-white complexion and eyes that are a pale blueish-white.
