พระไพรศรพณ์หรือท้าวเวสสุวรรณปางหน้าเทพ ทรงเป็นประธานของท้าวจตุโลกบาล ทรงเป็นอธิบดีปกครองดูแลทิศตะวันออก มีหน้าที่ดูแลปกครองเหล่ายักษ์ และควบคุมเหล่าอสูร ยักษ์ ภูตผีปีศาจ ท้าวเวสสุวรรณ ในปางหน้าเทพเสมือนผู้ปกครองที่ให้ความเป็นธรรม
Vaisravana (Phra Phaisaraphon), in his benevolent deity aspect (Pang Nah Thep), is the President of the Four Great Heavenly Kings (Chatulokapala). He is the chief guardian presiding over the North direction. His duty is to govern and oversee the Yakshas (giants/nature spirits) and control the host of Asuras, Yakshas, ghosts, and demons. Thao Vessuwan in his deity form is likened to a ruler who dispenses fairness and justice.
