029 พระวิศวกรรม Vishvakarma

เทพแห่งการช่าง หรือ นายช่างใหญ่แห่งสวรรค์ เป็นผู้ออกแบบและสร้างวิมาน ปราสาท และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆ ให้แก่เหล่าเทพเจ้าบนสวรรค์ ตำนานของฮินดูระบุว่าพระองค์เป็นผู้สร้างเมืองสำคัญหลายแห่ง เช่น กรุงลงกา ( Lanka) และเมืองทวารกา (Dvaraka) ของพระกฤษณะ รวมถึงเป็นผู้สร้างอาวุธและเครื่องประดับให้แก่เหล่าทวยเทพด้วย ในประเทศไทย พระวิศวกรรมถือเป็น “ครู” หรือ “คุรุเทพ” ของช่างทุกแขนง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นช่างก่อสร้าง ช่างเครื่องกล สถาปนิก หรือศิลปิน คำว่า “Engineering” ในภาษาอังกฤษถูกบัญญัติเป็นภาษาไทยว่า “วิศวกรรมศาสตร์” โดยมีที่มาจากพระนามของพระองค์

VisvakarmanPhra Visvakarman is the God of Architecture and Engineering or the Great Divine Architect of Heaven. He is the designer and builder of the celestial mansions, palaces, and various facilities for the Devas in heaven. Hindu legends state that he created several important cities, such as Lanka and Dvaraka (Krishna’s city), and also fabricated weapons and ornaments for the deities. In Thailand, Visvakarman is regarded as the “Khrū” (Master) or “Guru Deva” of all branches of craftsmanship, including construction workers, mechanical engineers, architects, and artists. The English word “Engineering” was officially translated into Thai as “Witsawakammasāt” , which is directly derived from his divine name.
