พระกัศยปเทพบิดร หรือที่รู้จักในชื่อ ฤๅษีกัศยปะ ฤาษ๊ผู้ได้รับฉายาว่า “พ่อทุกสถาบัน” บทบาทสำคัญของพระองค์คือ บิดาแห่งสรรพสิ่ง พระกัศยปะมีชายา ๑๓ องค์ ล้วนเป็นธิดาของพระทักษะประชาบดี ด้วยชายาเหล่านี้นี่เองที่พระองค์ทรงให้กำเนิดสิ่งมีชีวิตกลุ่มอมนุษย์ในคติฮินดู ไม่ว่าจะเป็น เทพ อสูร ครุฑ นาค คนธรรพ์ ปีศาจ ต้นไม้ สรรพสัตว์ อทนุษย์ ฯลฯ กัศยป มีรากศัพท์หมายถึง “เต่า” หรือ “ผู้ส่องสว่าง” ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงปัญญาอันล้ำลึกและบทบาทในการสร้างสรรพชีวิต
Kasyapa PrajapatiKasyapa Prajapati, also known as Kashyapa Rishi (Sage Kasyapa), is the sage who earned the title “Father of all Institutions” or “Progenitor of all Beings.” His crucial role is as the father of all existence. Kasyapa had thirteen consorts, all daughters of Daksha Prajapati. Through these consorts, he fathered various groups of non-human beings (Amanushya) in Hindu belief, including the Devas (gods), Asuras (demons), Garudas, Nāgas, Gandharvas, demons (Pishachas), trees, all animal species, etc. The etymology of Kasyapa means “tortoise” or “one who shines,” which reflects his profound wisdom and his role in creating all life.
