059 พระพิเภก Vibhishana

พิเภกเป็นน้องชายของทศกัณฐ์ ผู้มีสติปัญญา สุจริต และยึดมั่นในธรรม แม้จะเกิดเป็นยักษ์ แต่พิเภกไม่เห็นด้วยกับความอธรรมของพี่ชาย และพยายามทูลเตือนให้ทศกัณฐ์คืนพระสีดาเพื่อรักษาความสงบของลงกา เมื่อคำเตือนไม่เป็นผล พิเภกจึงเลือกเสด็จออกจากลงกาและไปสวามิภักดิ์ต่อพระรามด้วยความสัตย์ซื่อ ความรู้ด้านโหราศาสตร์และการทำนายของพิเภกช่วยให้พระรามชนะศึกลงกาได้อย่างสง่างาม พิเภกจึงเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของปัญญา ความภักดีต่อความถูกต้อง และการเลือกธรรมเหนือสายเลือด

Phipek (Vibhishana) is the younger brother of Thotsakan (Ravana), known for his wisdom, honesty, and adherence to the Dharma (righteousness). Although born as a demon (Yaksha), Vibhishana disagreed with his brother’s unrighteousness and continuously tried to advise Thotsakan to return Phra Sida (Sita) to maintain peace in Lanka.
When his warnings failed, Vibhishana chose to leave Lanka and pledged his loyal allegiance to Phra Ram (Lord Rama). Vibhishana’s knowledge of astrology and prophecy helped Phra Ram win the battle of Lanka with distinction.
Vibhishana thus became a symbol of wisdom, loyalty to righteousness, and the choice of Dharma over blood relation.
