060 ทศกัณฐ์ชิงกรุง Attack of Ravana

ทศกัณฐ์เดิมเป็นโอรสแห่งท้าวลัสเตียน แต่ยังไม่มีอำนาจครอบครองโลกยักษ์ทั้งปวง จึงหมายใจชิงนครของท้าวกุเวร ผู้เป็นทั้งพี่ต่างมารดาและเจ้าแห่งทรัพย์สมบัติ ทศกัณฐ์บำเพ็ญตบะจนได้อาวุธและพรอันยิ่งใหญ่ ทำให้ฤทธิ์เดชเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมหาศาล แล้วจึงยกกองทัพเข้าประชิดนคร ท้าวกุเวรแม้มีบุษบกพาหนะอานุภาพมาก แต่ไม่อาจต้านทานพลังของทศกัณฐ์ที่ได้รับพรใหม่ สุดท้ายทศกัณฐ์ยึดกรุงไว้ได้ และกลายเป็นเจ้าครองลงกาอย่างสมบูรณ์

Thotsakan (Ravana) was originally the son of Thao Lastian (Vishrava), but he did not yet possess the authority to rule over all the demon worlds. Therefore, he set his heart on seizing the kingdom of Thao Kuvera (Kubera), who was both his half-brother and the lord of all treasures.
Ravana performed extreme asceticism (Tapasya) until he gained great weapons and immense boons (blessings), which drastically increased his power. He then led his army to besiege the city. Although Thao Kuvera possessed a powerful celestial chariot (Pushpaka Vimana), he could not withstand the newly acquired power of Ravana.
