อวตารของพระนารายณ์ในลำดับที่ 8 “พระกฤษณะ” ในวัยเด็กได้พระองค์ได้กระโจนลงสู่แม่น้ำยมุนาเพื่อต่อกรกับนาคกาลียะ กฤษณะร่ายรำอย่างสนุกสนานอยู่เหนือเศียรนาคทั้งหลายจนนาคยอมจำนน ก่อนจะสั่งให้นาคละทิ้งถิ่นและสัญญาไม่ทำร้ายผู้ใดอีก เหตุการณ์นี้เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของการเอาชนะผู้มีพิษภัยด้วยใจที่บริสุทธิ์ไม่หวาดกลัว

Krishna Subduing the Naga KaliyaThe eighth avatar of Lord Narayana (Vishnu), “Lord Krishna,” in his childhood, leaped into the Yamuna River to confront the multi-headed serpent Naga Kaliya. Krishna danced joyfully upon all of the serpent’s heads until the Naga surrendered. Krishna then commanded the serpent to leave the area and promise not to harm anyone again. This event symbolizes the overcoming of the venomous (wicked) with a pure and fearless heart.
